Aecom: State will struggle to meet housing targets in 2024 if support measures not extended

Consultancy said that 2023 housing completions are on track to exceed targets, but warned that this could change without sustained state incentives

The government could “struggle” to meet housing targets in 2024 if affordability measures and incentives are not extended, a new report by Aecom, the construction consultancy, has said.

The firm, which advises some of the biggest development companies in Ireland, has published its annual industry review, which shows housing completions in 2023 are on track to exceed the government’s Housing For All target of 29,000.
