100 legal cases still ‘live’ over nursing home charges

Department of Health secretary general says there are between 12 and 20 cases over nursing home charges that could result in further liability to the state

The government is facing around 100 outstanding legal cases relating to private nursing home charges, of which up to 20 could result in further liability for the state, according to the top official at the Department of Health.

Robert Watt today told an Oireachtas committee that about 100 cases relating to nursing home charges were still “live”.
