The Dáil chamber was so packed as Joe Biden prepared to make his address on Thursday afternoon, Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl joked that the US president “sure could draw a crowd”.

“Perhaps afterwards you might give me some hints on how to ensure such a good attendance around here on Thursday afternoons,” Ó Fearghaíl said to an amused Biden.
