When the pandemic struck and Writech co-founder Ted Wright found himself working from home, he began questioning what he wanted to do for the next two decades of his life – and the answer involved selling a majority stake in the fire protection systems firm

The pandemic gave Ted Wright the time to think about what he wanted from life. Up to that point, the 44-year-old had been working 16 and 17-hour days as chief executive of a business that was growing rapidly.

Headquartered in Mullingar, Writech designs and manufactures fire protection systems for some of the largest blue-chip companies in Ireland across a range of sectors, including data centres, life sciences, logistics, retail, commercial property, and food and beverage.
