Upgraded ports needed for wave energy projects

Ireland will struggle to fulfil its ocean energy potential without significant refurbishment of the smaller ports on the Atlantic coast, the Marine Renewables Industry Association (MRIA) has warned.

Ireland is seen as having one of the best potential resources for the technology, with major players including the ESB sizing up projects on the west coast in the coming years.
