Simon Harris must take responsibility for the fiasco of the National Children’s Hospital overrun

The decision to build the new €1.43 billion National Children’s Hospital on the St James’s Hospital campus in Dublin is an unmitigated disaster.

As taxpayers we will end up footing the bill for at least €1 billion more than we would have paid had it been located elsewhere.

Claims that various factors are belatedly adding to costs don’t stand up to the most basic scrutiny. This project was given the go-ahead in 2012. ...
