Earlier this month, Keir Starmer found himself sharing the spotlight with another Keir: Keir Mather.

The latter had just provided Britain’s Labour Party with its biggest ever by-election victory, overturning a 20,000 Conservative majority in the North Yorkshire constituency of Selby and Ainsty.
