History beckons as Limerick hurlers prepare for Kilkenny clash

The Liam McCarthy Cup is on the line as Limerick aim to become the third side ever to win four All Irelands in a row

It’s the ultimate test for Limerick and Kilkenny on Sunday. The winners of four of the last five All-Ireland titles, including all of the last three, take on the all-time leaders in titles for the Liam McCarthy Cup.

John Kiely’s Limerick side is seeking to become just the third ever to win four All-Ireland hurling crowns in a row, after Cork from 1941 to 1944 and Kilkenny from 2006 to 2009.
