‘High degree of confusion’ over Johnson-era Covid regulations

The British inquiry into the handling of the pandemic has found that the ex-prime minister’s oversight left both the public and law enforcement confused as to what the rules were

The British Covid-19 inquiry has exposed the chaos, calumny and disorder which ran at the heart of the Boris Johnson government at the height of the pandemic.

On Thursday, former home secretary Dame Priti Patel said a “completely different system” would need to be in place in future pandemics to prevent the legal confusion seen during Covid.
