Emmet Ryan: Mayo’s self awareness should prove crucial against Dublin

Two flawed but unquestionably talented sides take the field in the main event at Croke Park on Sunday but don’t expect this to look like any Dublin vs Mayo battle of recent memory

Through the entirety of the 2010s, Dublin and Mayo were far ahead of the chasing pack when it came to scoring.

Mayo tapered off a bit towards the end of the decade but from 2012 through 2017 in particular no other county, not even Kerry, came close to Dublin when it came to creating and converting chances.
