Faiza Alssaedi is facing the prospect of losing her rented home once the government's new winter eviction ban ends.

She and her two children have been given a notice to quit by the landlord of the three-bedroom house she rents in the suburb of Knocknacarra in Galway city. The winter eviction ban will extend her departure date, but only slightly – from February 23 to sometime after April 1.
