Coveney will need to hit the ground running in Enterprise to keep up with business demands

High energy costs and inflation will be at the top of a full in-tray of issues that businesses will be looking for help with as the new Minister for Enterprise takes up his new position

More than 7,000 Irish businesses received an early Christmas present from the government last week, as the first tranche of support payments was issued to companies that applied for the Temporary Business Energy Support Scheme (TBESS).

These payments will continue into next year for firms that have signed up to the scheme. Michael McGrath, the new Minister for Finance, appealed to more businesses to register with Revenue and apply for the government supports available.
