Companies Records Office accused of altering records after striking off 1500 firms

Legal and financial representatives of multiple firms have contacted the enterprise department’s agency which enforces company law

Directors face the prospect of incurring costs in attempting to restore a company to the register

The Companies Registration Office (CRO) has been threatened with legal action following a series of complaints that it invalidly struck off up to 1,550 companies.

Legal experts said the CRO made an error which, if not rectified, would result in “incredibly burdensome” and “unfair” consequences for company directors.
