In a San Francisco courtroom last week, Elon Musk attempted to stem the damage to his reputation and his fortune as a class action brought by Tesla shareholders finally got under way. The shareholders claim they lost billions of dollars as a result of false assertions by Musk that he had secured financing to take the electric car manufacturing company private at $420 a share.
