It’s not only about tourism: from Donegal to Kerry to Shannon, industries and services are worrying about a loss of connectivity to and from the United States and Europe

For most people, the sight of a Nissan, BMW or Honda driving down the street conjures up associations with great car-making countries such as Germany or Japan, but in Gaoth Dobhair, Co Donegal the locals see only their own handiwork.

“You can look out at a Nissan Qashqai and know that one of our parts is in there. You can look at a BMW i8 and know that we have 20 parts in it or you can look at a Honda Civic where we’ve 17 parts in there. So, we’re on the road a lot,” Karen Campbell, the sales and logistics manager at Irish Pressings, told the Business Post.
