For its latest challenge, 8 Degrees in Mitchelstown has taken on the arduous task of delivering India pale ale (IPA) flavour at session alcohol by volume (ABV).

Grand Stretch is a 4.2 per cent beer, which immediately sounds alarm bells ringing. Session IPAs are increasingly common from US breweries, but they usually serve as a halfway house between pale ales and true IPAs.
