Opera Collective takes Flight to a new level
OCI takes off in a modern direction by staging British playwright Jonathan Dove’s breakthrough comedy composition
“You will now find our alumni names on stages all across Europe,” says the mezzo-soprano and vocal coach Colette McGahon. She is proudly recalling how her brainchild Opera Collective Ireland (OCI) was formed in 2011, a time when the country’s opera scene was reeling following the collapse of both Opera Ireland and the youth training Opera Theatre Company (OTC).
