Yeats' letters under hammer at Sotheby's

One of the most important collections of letters by WB Yeats ever to be offered at auction is expected to realise €80,000 to €110,000 at Sotheby's this week.

Assembled by Yeats' friend Sydney Cockerell, the collection comprises 42 quarto leaves of stiff blue paper bound in green morocco, and it has a head-and-shoulders photograph of Yeats and an autograph inscription by Cockerell on the first leaf identifying the amanuensis responsible for some letters ...
