The Baltic states: boundless opportunities

Despite their reputations as unknown quantities, the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania boast the three fastest-growing economies in Europe, adding to their unique appeal, writes Niamh Hennessy.

The Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuaniawere controlled by the USSR for most of the 20th century. It is only since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 that the three states have enjoyed independence and they are still undergoing intense reconstruction.
