Ulster Bank is facing a €1 billion legal blitz over its interest rate swaps

They were designed to allow banks and borrowers alike to hedge their bets. Now, however, Ulster Bank is facing alleged interest rate swap mis-selling cases worth more than €1 billion, according to barristers and solicitors handling court proceedings against the bank.

Dozens of cases are now listed in the Irish courts, with legal sources confirming that hundreds of millions of euro worth of cases have already been settled.
