Shatter: reform of legal sector is 'crucial'

Minister for Justice Alan Shatter has told the Select Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality that reform programmes for the sector are of "crucial importance".

Speaking on the 2013 estimates for the €2.2 billion justice vote, Shatter said: "It is simply not an option to continue blindly with old models and ways of doing things. Reform and more efficient ways of delivering services are crucial to the operation of the sector."
