Mater shareholders declare interest in on-site private build

Shareholders in the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin are the latest investors to signal their interest in building privately-funded hospitals on public hospital sites.

Mater Private Hospital chief executive Mark Moran said the consortium of investors behind the hospital would look at opportunities that emerged following the announcement by the Minister for Health, Mary Harney, that she would provide 1,000 new public hospital beds over the next five years.
