Israelis fight on before US-French resolution

The race has been on. The Israelis knew they had to try to achieve their objective in Lebanon before the US and French finally produced a resolution with which Israel and Lebanon both have to live.

The Israeli cabinet is to discuss the resolution today following the vote late on Friday in the UN Security Council.
