Advisers believe that EU Competition Commissioner, Neelie Croes, and her department will examine the all-important Dublin to London market on the basis of what is called ‘city pairs’. They point to the Air France takeover of Dutch airline KLM in 2004 which was scrutinised by way of the ‘city pairs’ on the Paris Amsterdam market.
