Boredom a major problem for call centres

Initiatives to motivate staff was one of the main concerns for call centres at the Call Centre and Customer Services Forum Ireland last week.

The event, which was held in association with iQuest and The Sunday Business Post, organised by Forum Events and partnered by the Call Centre Management Association, brought together buyers and suppliers from the call centre industry in Ireland and Britain.

Alan McGilton, commercial manager of Ireland Assist, said the nature of the work in call centres can be repetitive, and this was huge challenge for the industry.
