Held at the the English National Ballet HQ, Rocha’s spring-summer 24 collection was entitled The Dress Rehearsal in what might seem an ode to a ballet itself, and while the pieces did have nods to a classic dance style, with pretty pinks in chiffon and roses woven together, there was a tougher edge to other looks, with tailored suit jackets layered over gathered dresses and a more utilitarian feel to other styles.
It’s easy for roses to appear twee but Rocha used the flower motif to decorate in a hyper-real way that felt tactile and covetable as opposed to kitsch. Also debuted at the London show was the Simone Rocha x Crocs which aims to merge the Crocs utilitarianism with the feminine Simone Rocha aesthetic.
The collaboration consists of three Crocs styles reimagined with signature Simone Rocha pearls, crystal and jet beading, some with inbuilt Simone Rocha embellished socks. The collaboration will land in Simone Rocha stores and online, Crocs online and select retail stores in spring 2024.
