Shop the luxury drop: Loewe’s latest clogs, watch news, and art-inspired handbags

Your guide to August’s most coveted luxury launches and collaborations

The Serpenti Forever Bag by Bulgari receives an avant garde refresh by three international artists in celebration of the luxury house’ 75th anniversary of the Serpenti snake emblem

The clog craze

If you missed the news, Loewe is currently the world’s hottest fashion brand according to the fashion-tech platform Lyst. And to make the brand even hotter – in buzzy, hype culture terms – the Spanish luxury house released its Anagram Ease Mule. Similar in style to the constantly sold-out Birkenstock Boston clogs, yet luxed-up considerably in a black or olive leather finish with the brand’s Anagram logo, this release is pretty indicative that the clog craze isn’t going anywhere – though this particular style will set you back a cool €850. loewe.com

Lost and found

There is something very Stranger Things about Los Angeles-based brand Mother Denim’s latest capsule collection, Lost & Found. Awash with references to ‘70s and ‘80s throwback styles – lots of dark-wash high-rise denim, rainbow-striped baby tees, trucker hats, knee high sports socks, and raglan t-shirts – it’s a coveted collection for those who appreciate period dressing. motherdenim.com

The archives

The Italian luxury fashion retailer LuisaViaRoma welcomes an exclusive capsule collection from Vivienne Westwood – designed by the late designer’s partner Andreas Kronthaler – to its site this month. It features all the hallmarks of Vivenne Westwood’s archival designs: the Sunday Corset comes in tartan originally seen in the autumn-winter 2020 collection; the Meghan Kilt comes in a classic raw-edge hem; the Elevated Ghillie platform heels are reflective of those first seen on Naomi Campbell for the autumn-winter 1993 collection; while the Yasmine Bag nods to the 1989 collection. luisaviaroma.com

Watch wonders

Louis Vuitton has unveiled its latest Tambour sports watch – priced almost five times higher (€19,500) than the average mechanical watch sold by the French luxury house. At the same time as the release, 80 per cent of the brand’s luxury watches were retired. It’s a move, headed by Louis Vuitton’s watch director Jean Arnault, that will see the brand’s timepieces become more exclusive and far more expensive. The Tambour (a style introduced in 2002) is now smaller and sportier, and features a three-hand movement, the micro-rotator comes in high-inertia 22k gold, and it carries a 50-hour power reserve. louisvuitton.com

The forever bag

The Italian luxury house Bulgari celebrates the 75th anniversary of one of its most emblematic icons this year: the Serpenti snake. Adorning jewellery worn most recently by brand ambassadors like Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, and Priyanka Chopra, the symbol has now been reimagined in the refreshed Serpenti Forever bags. Designed by three international artists – Sunwoo Kim, Zhou Li, and Sophie Kitching – the signature shoulder bag features avant garde takes on the shape and are limited to 75 pieces – consider it a collector’s item. bulgari.com
