For 23 years, the Irish Tatler Women of the Year awards have celebrated the talent and ingenuity of Irish women in industries like business, STEM, art, music, film and many more.

From activists, philanthropists, creative forces, and entrepreneurs, the awards represent the original and best-respected platform for female achievement in Ireland. The 23rd edition of the awards took place in the iconic Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin on Saturday, November 11.

Among the awardees were trailblazers like Therese Coveney, the founder of social enterprise Together Academy which provides young adults with Down syndrome with certified training, practical work experience, and employment opportunities.

Female-founded healthcare start-up Shorla Oncology was this year’s business awardee, following its acceleration of financial growth which saw it recently receive FDA approval to bring a speciality drug designed to treat T-cell leukaemia for children to the market.

And, the 2023 Film and Drama winner Laura McGann was honoured for her groundbreaking Netflix documentary, The Deepest Breath, a category which was supported by Lancôme, who is both a long-time champion of trailblazing women in film and a long-standing supporter of Irish Tatler’s Women of the Year awards.

Ahead of the special gala ceremony, Lancôme welcomed a selection of guests into its Glam Suite in the Shelbourne Hotel to get red carpet ready. Skincare specialist Guzel McCormick was on hand to prime guests’ skin and achieve a flawless base, while seasoned makeup artists Amy McKnight, Danielle Brennan, and Diana Oleinic followed suit to create iconic looks for 13 guests.

Working from Lancôme’s luxury kit, the makeup artists reached for some of the brand’s most desired products like the Hypnôse Doll Eye Mascara and L’Absolu Rouge Cream lipsticks to create the red carpet looks.

The hero products on the night included Lancôme’s Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation and the Hypnôse Eye Palette in French Nude which can create everything from soft, sultry looks to built-up smokey glam.

The makeup artists worked with each of the guests to create looks that complemented their natural features and set off their outfits on the night.

Makeup artist Danielle Brennan worked with beauty journalist Triona McCarthy to create a subtle glam look with a strong red lip (L’Absolu Rouge Cream in shade 525 French Bisou) that was the perfect accent to her chic black jumpsuit with tulle sleeves, which overlaid a smart white shirt and tie.
