First look at revamped Morrison Hotel
The hotel has been rebranded as ‘Curio Collection by Hilton’ having undergone a two-year renovation
The Morrison Hotel on Dublin’s Ormond Quay has just announced the completion of a €5 million, two-year revamp under its new owners, Zetland Capital that has given it a new 5-star rating.
The renovation has taken place while the hotel has remained open, with new flooring, furniture, décor, panelling and lighting added throughout.
Spearheaded by NODA (Nikki O’Donnell Architects), there has been new artwork curated by Art Loves. With 145 hotel bedrooms and public areas, the bedrooms were last to be finished, and have been completely redecorated with new bathrooms while retaining their song lyric murals.
Zetland Capital, a London-based private equity firm, bought the former Morrison hotel for an undisclosed price in 2021 but the figure was reported at the time to be worth more than €65 million.
Of the refurbishment, hotel director Patrick Joyce, who has been with The Morrison for many years said: “We’re very excited about this next chapter for The Morrison Dublin. It’s been a lot of work, but we feel that the hotel has never looked better, and we’re just as proud of the level of hospitality we offer.”
