Doctors file protected disclosure against colleague

Concerns highlighted include one case where woman showed signs of sepsis before dying

Doctors have made a protected disclosure about a surgeon in the Ireland East Hospitals Group in which they highlighted their major concerns about patient outcomes, including one case where a woman died.

The doctors alleged that the surgeon had a worryingly high number of complications.

They expressed concern about 18 cases, but said there may be others. They claimed the surgeon involved did not attend regular morbidity and mortality meetings.
