The CIO and IT Leaders Summit hosted a fascinating selection of speakers whose talks covered plenty of ground, from AI and automation to chatbots and data privacy

Voice recognition software. Neurodiversity in the workplace. The uses of blockchain for beekeeping, and the meaning of the word ‘cybrarian’. It’s a lot to think about, early on a Wednesday morning, but the CIO and IT Leaders Summit delivered an exciting line-up of speakers whose talks, however diverse, shared a number of common themes. Chief among them was the role of AI in business: how are tools like machine learning, chatbots and neural networks making life easier for organisations and their customers? Similarly, what are the ethical consequences of automating large swathes of your business, and how can they be resolved?
