Collectors of Irish silver should take note of Lot 400, a rare and early tankard by Thomas Bolton (circa 1701/1705) which is being offered by Chiswick Auctions, London, on October 11.

It is recorded as one of 78 tankards from the Stuart period (between the accession of James I and the death of Queen Anne) in Ireland by expert and historian Tony Sweeney in his book Irish Stuart Silver.
