There will be no "quick fix" to the challenges facing the UK capital’s ailing stock market, the lord mayor of the City of London has said.

Michael Mainelli insisted that the London Stock Exchange's lacklustre run of high-profile exits and a dearth of new listings was symptomatic of the rising cost of raising capital globally.
