An opportunity has presented itself for Ireland to add more highly skilled tech workers to the workforce, but now we can secure the talent the same old homegrown issues are letting us down
The Russian invasion in Ukraine has meant that many of the country’s tech workers have been displaced. Opening Ireland to refugees by way of waiving current visa requirements opens up an opportunity for Ireland to capitalise on the skilled workers fleeing the war. These displaced tech workers need jobs, and we are a nation with a gap to fill. It would seem like a no-brainer, so why is it not quite that simple?
