In early August, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) inadvertently published a document online for approximately three hours in response to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request.

This was no ordinary document. It contained the last name, first initial, rank/grade, location, and unit in which they work, of around 10,000 police officers and civilian employees, including those working in covert roles such as intelligence.
