The Business Post can reveal the shortlists for the 2025 PwC Business Post Sustainable Business Awards.
The awards programme runs across 11 categories, reflecting the strong work in ESG undertaken over the last 12 months.
Daniel McConnell, editor at the Business Post, said he was delighted to see such a strong set of entries from across a broad range of businesses and industries.
Leadership, innovation, investment and ingenuity
“I am delighted to say that this year’s shortlist is the strongest set of entries yet received since these awards commenced,” McConnell said.
“The Business Post Sustainable Business Awards continue to go from strength to strength each year and reflect the real and sustained commitment from Ireland’s leading companies, public and private, to delivering on ESG commitments,” he added.
Established in 2022, the PwC Business Post Sustainable Business Awards recognise leadership, innovation, investment and ingenuity in the areas of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG).
Past winners have included An Post, Bus Eireann, Bord na Mona, University College Cork and Vestas.
Recognising genuine efforts
McConnell said the Business Post prides itself on the quality of its energy, environmental and social coverage.
"Led by our policy editor Daniel Murray, the SBAs is one of the most important projects we at the Business Post undertake every year and the range of entries received this year is a testament to the commitment of Irish businesspeople to sustainability, and we’re delighted to showcase their efforts through these annual awards. As editor, I’d particularly like to thank PwC for their ongoing support of the awards and look forward to welcoming everyone to the showcase event on March 20,” he said.
David McGee, PwC Ireland ESG Leader, remarked "The awards recognise the best-in-class Irish businesses across diverse ESG categories, celebrating those that are committed to demonstrating leadership and advancing sustainable practices.
As we enter our fourth year of sponsoring the awards since their establishment in 2022, PwC is proud to continue providing a platform for Irish businesses to highlight their sustainability initiatives and efforts across various sectors. It is a privilege to support and recognise the trailblazers who are making a significant impact on our future."
