The US and Ireland must dedicate themselves to peace in Gaza, Leo Varadkar has said during an address in Boston.

The taoiseach made the comments as part of his first public speech during a week-long visit for St Patrick’s Day celebrations in the US.

Speaking at an event at the JFK Presidential Library in Boston, he said: “The cries of innocent victims of the conflict in Gaza will haunt us forever if we stay silent.”
