The majority of people welcome migrants – let’s keep it that way

Local people cannot have a veto over who lives in their areas but the government must communicate better with the public

There is a sense of mounting crisis about the numbers of migrants arriving in Ireland, and what happens to them when they get here. Hundreds of recent arrivals are said to be sleeping on the streets of Dublin because there is no accommodation for them. Migrant camps on the outskirts of the city have been attacked by racists and thugs.
