The Taoiseach has said he was not party to an alleged legal strategy on minimising public payouts for “illegal” nursing home charges over the last decade, despite his time spent as Minister for Health.
Leo Varadkar was responding to a report in the Mail on Sunday at the weekend which cited documents it claimed revealed a “secret plan” to hide the true scale of the State’s liability for “illegal” nursing home charges.
