Stephen Donnelly looking into banning ‘cynical’ ads for zero alcohol products

Minister for Health has asked officials for clarity around the issue, and said he was open to amending legislation if needed to stop the practice

Stephen Donnelly says he is taking legal advice from his officials on how to stop the advertisement of zero alcohol products in Ireland, saying it is “cynical” for companies to advertise these products as a way of avoiding recent bans and to promote full-strength brands.
