State to pay €40m to help DCU build over 400 ‘unviable’ student beds

The government is to provide more than €40 million to help Dublin City University (DCU) build 405 new beds on campus, which would otherwise have been unviable due to rising construction costs.

Simon Harris, the Minister for Higher Education, will today seek cabinet approval to release the funding to DCU as part of an initiative to help universities provide new beds for students at a time of high building inflation.
