The state is to extend its lease on the Citywest hotel in Dublin for a further year to accommodate asylum seekers and Ukrainian refugees after paying over €50 million to the company which owns it last year.

Roderic O’Gorman, the integration minister, will today tell ministers that his department has agreed to extend the state’s lease on the building until May 2025.
