Ranelagh gets new interiors store with serious pedigree and Irish design at its heart

The new opening is the brainchild of both founders’ 25-years’ experience in interior design as well as publishing consultancy to Vogue China and GQ in Hong Kong, and will offer a design studio and furniture store

Dublin interiors store and design studio, Interiors Atelier, has opened the doors to its new shop in Dunville Avenue, Ranelagh, this week, bringing with it the high-quality, Irish-made features that have characterised the store since its 2018 launch.

The opening coincides with the store’s new eight-piece, evolving Irish-made furniture range – the IA Furniture Collection – which includes bedside tables, ottomans, a bar cart, and console tables designed and made in Dublin using FSC environmentally-certified wood.

The collection is notable for its entirely customisable features; you can choose your piece of furniture and have it made in a selection of fabrications and eight colourways (black, white, earthy green, and muted red, for example). Each piece is made to order by local manufacturers in four weeks.

Its founder Sinead Moore and creative director Lisa Donnelly partnered in 2022 to curate the store’s current mix of interior design services and furniture offerings, following Moore’s solo launch of the store in 2018 – formerly on Francis Street, Dublin 8.

Their partnership draws on Moore’s 25-years-plus experience in interior design – she previously worked in architectural interior design for Irish and international clients – alongside Donnelly’s stylistic experience from close to three decades of experience in publishing, such as working as a consultant to Vogue China and GQ in Hong Kong.

The new store and furniture collection is aimed at the “discerning consumer who is looking for sustainable, high-quality Irish-made furniture,” Moore said.

In addition to the store’s furniture collection, Interiors Atelier’s design consultancy offers a by-appointment service where you can avail of the ‘little black book’ of trusted tradespeople who restore furniture, hang wallpaper, and make bespoke curtains, headboards, and cushions.

"Our collection offers flair, choice and colour for those who want something a bit different that will make a statement, yet which is also beautifully made. Sustainability, lead times and trends are also important factors in their purchasing decisions,” Donnelly said.

Interiors Atelier is located at No. 23 Dunville Avenue, Ranelagh, Dublin 6, and is open Tuesday to Saturday fron 11am to 4pm, while design services are available by appointment.
