Pearse Doherty on wooing business, Sinn Féin’s wealth tax and his election fears

The opposition finance spokesman says recent polls have caused worry that Sinn Féin might miss its target at the next general election

Shortly after 5pm on Wednesday in his fifth floor office at Leinster House, Pearse Doherty fixed his tie and took a seat.

The 46-year-old Donegal TD said he was keen to cut through what he describes as the noise of Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil’s criticisms about Sinn Féin’s economic positions, his Gweedore accent emphasising each vowel.
