Outsourcing asylum processes to Africa not under consideration, says Helen McEntee

Ireland is not considering outsourcing the processing of asylum seekers to the likes of Africa, despite other European countries exploring such schemes, the Minister for Justice has told the Business Post.

Helen McEntee said such a system was not under consideration in Ireland, even as an increasing number of EU member states and the UK examine the use of “third world countries” to keep the processing of asylum claims offshore.
