OpenAI founder’s cryptocurrency rolls out despite US regulator pushback

The Worldcoin Foundation, a cryptocurrency project led by Sam Altman, the founder of OpenAI, has begun rolling out its services despite resistance from US regulators, according to reports.

The start-up, based in Berlin and San Francisco, announced on Monday that its Worldcoin cryptocurrency would be available in 35 cities across 20 countries. The cryptocurrency will be traceable on the blockchain but users will first need to prove their identity before accessing it.
