Number of homeowners in early mortgage arrears rises - Central Bank

There were almost 30,000 owner-occupiers over 90 days behind on their mortgages at the end of last year, according to the banking regulator

The number of people struggling with their mortgage repayments on a short-term basis has increased slightly but those having long-term difficulties has fallen, according to the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI).

Quarterly figures from the regulator show that the number of homeowners in arrears of 90 days or less rose by 3 per cent in the final quarter of 2023.
