Hugh Scott-Barrett, who is set to take over as chairman of Ires Reit, Ireland’s largest private landlord, has stepped down from his role on the board of a UK company as he prepares for the time-consuming position at Ireland’s largest landlord.

Scott-Barrett is a senior independent director of FTSE 250-listed Balanced Commercial Property Reit, a £1.1bn UK commercial property real estate investment trust, a position he has held since January 2021.

However, following the announcement he will takeover as chair in late February he has decided to step down next month.
