Meet the jewellery range that defines quiet luxury

Founded almost one hundred years ago, this northern Italian jeweller’s timeless designs and continued technical evolution mean it will never go out of style

When Umberto Cazzola opened his first goldsmith workshop in 1929 in Vicenza, close to Venice, he was already a perfectionist and an innovator.

He taught his son, Odino, how to be a master craftsman too and together the Cazzola’s put their skills to good use, handcrafting watch straps from gold and other metals and supplying them to the biggest watchmakers in neighbouring Switzerland.

These skills they continually honed and soon saw the creation of a world-first: a flexible clasp-free gold bracelet crafted entirely from 18-carat gold, with minuscule gold springs hidden between each link.

Magnificent and seamless, not only had the Cazzola’s created something truly groundbreaking, but they could complete the whole making process in-house, from the goldsmithing to the stone cutting, in Vicenza.

And so FOPE (which stands for Factory Gold for Export in Italian) was born, and while still made in its northern Italian home, it is internationally recognised for its elegant statement jewellery.

Its cutting-edge Flex’it collection has become the definition of quiet luxury, with understated elegance and craftsmanship that is the product of years of technological innovations.

While still incorporating the original craftsmanship, each piece is now made using a unique combination of cutting-edge robotic technology fused with the Cazzola’s original Italian goldsmithing expertise.

And FOPE continues to evolve. This year has seen the introduction of a series of coloured flexible gemstone and gold rings called Souls.

Available in white, yellow, or rose gold, each is set with a single precious stone and again uses FOPE’s pioneering 18-carat flexible gold mesh chain, making the rings exceptionally comfortable, but versatile too, adapting to any finger on your hand as well as making them easily stackable.

FOPE’s Flex’it technology also extends to necklaces with its Luna collection of necklaces created with a hidden clasp along the seamless round shape of the piece.

The Solo Flex’it necklaces meanwhile, have made a hero of the clasp detail with an oval set with a central diamond, while a secret button behind the “O” of the FOPE logo activates the opening mechanism.

The necklaces can be worn as single chokers or stacked for added impact, each one a testament to its Italian legacy of quality, design and innovation.
