Liquidators appointed over a well-known construction company have said they will investigate concerns that “very significant dividends” were paid to shareholders a year before the firm sought to be wound up.

Glenbeigh Construction Limited, which had been carrying out works on a number of high-value and strategic projects, applied to be placed into liquidation last month. It said it was unable to pay its debts due to losses in recent years.
